Annabelle is dealing with the recent loss of her husband which of course isn't easy. And having her brother-in-law move in next door isn't helping the matter at all. Jacob doesn't seem to understand why Annabelle married her brother to begin with but when he finds out his eyes open a bit. But these two can never seem to get along for longer than 10 minutes and outside forces seem to make sure these two never are together. But how long can two strong people really resist the connection they have together?
This book was an emotional roller coaster and it will push you to your limits. There's a lot of back and forth between Annabelle and Jacob, and a lot of push and pull, but it's so well done, you can't help but love them. I know that when I get a Carrie Ann Ryan book, I'm in for an emotional journey and I love it every time!
