“LOGAN?” Her beautiful eyes study me with horror and a fury I’ve never seen in her eyes before. It sends a chill through my body, but I stand straight, staring directly into my past. “Quinn.” She looks different. Older, but still the same. Her once long, blond hair has been cut to her shoulders, and she’s wearing a blue beanie that matches her dark, stormy eyes that are now lined with black eyeliner. I’ve never seen Quinn wearing makeup, but it’s not caked on. The eyeliner makes her large blue eyes stand out even more. She’s wearing a plain, white t-shirt, dark jeans and of course, Converse tennis shoes that are more than likely stolen, whether by her or someone else, who knows. “Fuck you.” Her eyes narrow as she glares with hatred that cuts through me like a knife. I’ve spent so many nights over the last four years wondering if she hates me. Now I know. Two words and her demeanor told me everything. “What the hell? You know her?” I hear Blair’s voice next to me, but I don’t move. My eyes are glued on Quinn, who has started to take off, but I follow her, desperately seeking her out, fearful of letting her walk away without giving her some sort of explanation. I catch up quickly, a few feet away and grab her elbow, turning her to face me. “Quinn. I can explain.” She yanks out of my hold. “I don’t want to hear it.” She points back to the area where I left Melody and Blair. “Get back in your fancy, ridiculous car and drive back to your new life.”“Quinn, I didn’t have a choice.” Her eyes narrow and her arms cross. “Bull. Shit.”“It’s true !” I don’t want to care. I’m not supposed to. I should be completely dead inside by now. But the way she’s looking at me, like a traitor, rips out my insides. She walks away again, and again I follow, our shoes crunching the gravel below our feet. She spins around on one foot, halting my steps. “I thought you were dead! Or locked up. Or in serious fucking trouble.” I swallow the bile rising in my throat, and her eyes lock on mine. “For six months. I thought the worst.”

I grew up in a small rural town in Kansas and currently live in a suburb of Kansas City. I love to read books that have main characters that are seriously flawed. I love to write and have been writing since I was in grade school.
