She fiddles with the wide belt and keeps her gaze down,
hiding from me. “When Stephen and I were sitting at the bar working yesterday,
I heard the girls talking about giving lap dances and blow jobs for thousands
of dollars. Is that something–”
My mobile hits the floor, and I’m on her before I even
realize I’ve taken her down. Body checking her to the sofa in the small sitting
area, pinning her to the cushion as I growl at her. “Don’t even fucking think

Breathless and shocked, she lies still as a statue beneath
me. “Think about what?”
Of its own volition, my hand finds its way to her throat and
