My Perfect Remix by Swati M.H.

Title: My Perfect Remix
Author: Swati M.H.
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 30, 2021

BLURB

He was my best friend.
The fiercely protective boy who always caught me when I fell.
Until I moved away.

Now, ten years later, Logan Miller is a gorgeous, Grammy-winning DJ and a dedicated single dad—and hotter than any hit on the Billboards!
When our paths cross again, fantasies of him turn into reality.

I moved back to Austin to build a life outside the safety net of my wonderful, albeit overbearing, Indian family. Preferring the company of my old dog, my online games, and reruns of Marvel movies, I’m nowhere close to the type of woman who can handle a public life. The type of woman who’d be best suited for Logan Miller.

But when neither of us can control the gravitational pull of the other, we give in.
In limos, on mountains, on rooftops, in airplanes…
We create the perfect remix of a song written just for us.

But just when the beat of our hearts seem perfectly matched, perfectly in sync, his past threatens to shake the foundation he’s built so carefully. The only thing we can do is rely on the one thing that’s bonded us together—our love.

But will that be enough?

Logan’s eyes flash with the anger I saw earlier, and he does a quick survey of my entire body before meeting my gaze again. I wonder if he likes what he sees, but then I quickly remember that he’s been with women a hundred times hotter than me. “Is there a reason you didn’t come to Club Vex?”

I swallow, leaning back against the door, begging my knees not to wobble. “We were . . .. I was having fun here.”

Logan takes a step closer, eliminating the space between us and any chance of me escaping. “Yeah, I got that based on the slime that had his hands on you not five minutes ago.” His breath fans my face and my body reacts, arching toward him. What the heck, stupid body?

“Why does that bother you, Lo?” I summon any boldness I can find inside of me to meet him head-on. “Friends let friends flirt with strangers at bars.”

His hands stretch out and capture my hips, his fingers pressing firmly at my sides, creating a warm current inside my core. His heavy bulge rests unabashedly on my belly. “Well, I guess we’re not friends then, Batgirl.”

My breath snags on an exhale. The way his hands are holding me steady right now, they’re both my life raft and the anvil pulling me under. “Then what are we, Logan?”

He doesn’t respond. Instead, his stormy eyes bore into mine, mixing with equal parts of the same emotions I have swirling inside me--hesitation, vulnerability, and lust. He licks his lips and watches as I follow the movement. “Are you?”

My eyebrows crease. “Am I what?”

“Falling?”

Before I can even come to terms with what I’m doing, my hands lift, as if possessed by someone else. I push back the hood from his head before digging my fingers into his soft brown hair. With my head tipped up, I hold his gaze. I’m tired of fighting it, tired of denying it. “Yes.”

And just like that, his mouth is on mine, seizing the last of my breath. His hands slide down my hips and over my ass before resting on my bare thighs. A pool of heat gathers between my legs and I moan, bending into him. My nipples pebble against my bra as my body asks for more. His tongue finds mine, and I relish the sweetness I’ve been craving ever since I first tasted it. He squeezes the backs of my thighs and I feel his chest pound against mine.

The sounds of our lips and moans fill the room, spurring my arousal. I feel needy and heavy, and I’m shamelessly writhing under his touch. He pulls back slightly, capturing my bottom lip between his teeth, pulling and biting before deepening our kiss again.

Cupping his cheeks between my hands, I open my eyes, watching as his lips work over mine. It’s as if I need to see him devour me to believe it’s actually happening. As if he can feel my gaze on him, he opens his, too. And now we’re kissing--like freaks--with our eyes open.

It’s always been this way, hasn’t it, I wonder. Our eyes have always said everything our words never could.

His hand travels up, under my dress, lighting a fire over my skin. His eyes search mine for permission, and at the arch of my hips and the thumb I tenderly swipe over his cheek, he seems to have the approval he’s looking for. His lips unlock from mine before he finds my neck, licking, sucking, biting. “Baby . . .” he rasps.

It's sensation overload as his scruff slides over my neck and his hand finds the hem of my panties. Pushing aside the thin fabric, his fingers trace up and down my slick opening, and I gasp into his touch.

“This,” he whispers, traveling over my wet seam again and again. “This is for me.” His other hand comes to my face, curving over the back of my neck, as his thumb brushes my lips. I pull his thumb into my mouth, sucking gently, and he hisses. His light blue eyes become pools of obsidian as he watches his thumb disappear into my mouth. When I let his thumb go, he slides it over my lips again. “These lips, this body, you . . .” he inhales as if surprised by his own admission, “all mine.”

Surrender to the Stars (Fated Love, #2) by Swati M.H.

Title: Surrender to the Stars
Series: Fated Love #2
Author: Swati M.H.
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 13, 2021

BLURB

Vik Bedi was not supposed to be the one.
Arrogant, smooth-talking surgeons—who also happen to be Geminis—are bad news.
Our chemistry might be off the charts, but I’ve been burned by guys like him before.
You’d think I’d have learned my lesson . . .

But in a moment of weakness, I foolishly allowed a one-time fling to get him out of my system.

Now I’m addicted—to his devilish smile, his heated gaze, and the way he steals my breath just by walking into the room. As a NICU nurse, I know how to be strong in the face of fear and chaos, but he knows when I just need to be held.

He’s slowly inching his way into the one part of me that he can never have—my heart.

They say the brightest stars burn the fastest, but I’m afraid he’ll leave me in embers.

EXCERPT

“So, I hear you’re a NICU nurse at a hospital in San Diego,” Vik says, his fingertips setting my skin alight.

“Ah, so you don’t have selective hearing.” I’m sure he can see my lips twitch, begging to smile.

“Not when it comes to you, sweetheart.” His eyes heat up without warning and my traitorous body reacts conversely to the signals from my brain--waking up, warming up, tightening up.

His breath ghosts over my skin as he whispers, “When it comes to you, I hear everything--every exhaled breath and every pounding heartbeat. Like right now, I can hear the way your mind is working overtime to figure out how to get out of my arms and back to the safety of your friends. I can hear you trying, and failing, to convince yourself that there’s no chemistry here.”

Thankfully, the song ends--along with his words--and I’m able to resume breathing and normal brain function. I step away from him and his enticing smell. “I think you need to recheck your diagnosis, doctor. I haven’t failed to convince myself of any so-called chemistry. I know there is no chemistry here. In fact, in the next few seconds, you’ll be watching me successfully walk away from you to enjoy the rest of my night.”

Zing!

And with that, I’m off to find my friends amongst the crowd filling up the dance floor, not waiting for Vik’s response. I can’t move quick enough from his unsettling gaze, his statuesque frame, and his heady smell. One moment longer and I would have reached up and ran my hand through his thick black hair or grazed my thumb along the scruff on his jaw.

One moment longer and I might have licked him to stake my claim.

I give total credit to the drama classes I took during high school for my flawless performance tonight. If he could hear what was actually going through my head, we wouldn’t be anywhere near the dance floor . . . we’d be finding our rhythm on a bed somewhere.

This is my last night in New Delhi, celebrating my best friend’s big day. There is no way a devil adorning angel wings is going to take that from me, no matter how persuasive his velveteen voice might be. Tomorrow I’ll fly back home to San Diego while he goes back to New York.

Where he belongs.

Far, far away.

EXCERPT

Knowing I won’t be able to avoid talking to him, I steady myself and stand as tall as my five-foot-one inch frame will allow, much like the way one should stand when coming face to face with a bear. “Don’t you have better things to do like repair spines than stalk me?”

The corners of his mouth lift as his gaze sears into me like a diamond blade cutting metal. “There is no one better I’d like to do.”

I shake my head, not giving him the satisfaction of acknowledging his comment--no matter how much it makes my core clench. “Sorry, I don’t give rides to hitchhikers.”

He scratches his jaw, rubbing his hand slowly against the light scruff, his smile still intact. Whether he picks it up or not, he doesn’t address my double entendre. “That seems wise considering the state of your car at the moment.”

“It’ll be fine,” I say, unlocking my car door and throwing my purse onto the driver’s seat. I push the key fob to unlock the trunk.

Vik immediately goes to the back of my car to get the spare tire.

“You really don’t have to help me. I’ve changed a tire before.” Only once, and Dad did most of the work. “I’ll be fine doing it on my own.”

Why is his presence so unsettling? Why do I turn into a porcupine whenever he’s around? And why, for the love of God, am I still picturing myself swiping my tongue across his lips?

Giving me a pointed look as he passes by, he carries the tire and car jack to the front of the car, setting them near my flat. He rolls up his sleeves slowly, showing off his ridiculously gorgeous forearms with a soft smattering of dark hair. “I have no doubt that you can do it, but I’d like to help anyway.”

Within minutes, Vik has my old tire off while I try to make myself useful by giving him unneeded directions. I feel like the new helicopter mom I met today as she gave me directions on how to position her baby during his bath. After he puts the spare on, ensuring the bolts are tight, I gather the tools and the flat tire and put them inside the trunk of my car.

“Thanks,” I mumble, considering the ground next to him.

His smug smile suggests that he can see the physical pain I’m in after thanking him. “I’m sorry,” he leans closer, “what was that, little firecracker? Was that a ‘thanks’ that I just heard?”

Yup, he’s definitely hard of hearing.

I roll my eyes and speak a little louder for his benefit. “Yes, though, I’d like to repeat that I didn’t need your help. But still, thank you for saving me some time. It would have taken me longer.”

“Sure,” he says, victory written clearly on his face. “Though . . . I suppose I do deserve something for the favor I just did you.”

And there it is. The organ donation.

I scoff. “You mean . . . the favor you forced upon me?”

“Hey, you’re the one who just said I saved you time.” He puts both hands up in the air in a this-was-all-your-fault kind of way. “Now you have all this extra time on your hands.”

I don’t like where this is going . . ..

I squint at him. “Not that much extra time. Maybe ten minutes, and that’s if I’m being generous.”

“I’ll take whatever you can spare.”

I sigh, knowing this can’t be good. “What do you have in mind?” This is exactly why I didn’t want to owe him a favor. The less time I want to spend with this man, the more the universe resists.

He takes a step toward me, making me look up at him as his milk chocolaty gaze turns molten and a sinister smile plays on his lips. “Have a drink with me.”

EXCERPT

“Pretty sure that’s not the caramel pod you were looking for,” I tease, biting the inside of my cheek to stop an imminent grin. “Are you planning to stay in here for the rest of the day? Want me to ask maintenance to move your desk in here?”

“No,” she says with a huff. “I-I just can’t find it.”

She stiffens as I move closer into her space, crowding her a little more than necessary, but I’m impressed she holds her ground. I reach for the box of pods right above her head, my arm brushing hers as it lifts. I might have imagined it, but I’d swear I feel her lean in a fraction of a millimeter and take a small inhale.

Did she just try to smell me? Looks like we have that in common.

Picking up her palm gently and keeping my eyes steady on hers, I sweep my thumb across it before placing a pod into it. Her hand feels soft and warm inside mine but there’s no mistaking the little shake that runs through it. “How long are you planning to avoid me, Jitterbug?”

She keeps her eyes pinned to mine, but I can feel her breath hitch before she lets out a shaky breath. To my complete astonishment, she closes her palm around my hand and her eyes move to my lips, giving me a glimpse into her desire. I can feel her want through the heat of her hand and the fever rising in her eyes. She’s imagining what I’ve imagined a hundred times since I met her--our lips and bodies colliding.

That line seems to have moved farther away.

The contact between our hands makes every molecule in my body buzz wildly like a swarm of bees around a honeycomb. I want to lift her against the wall, wrap her python-covered legs around my waist, burrow into her, and claim her as mine. To hell will composure and restraint--I want to do all those filthy things to her that I vowed not to do earlier!

With our eyes still locked on each other’s lips and my heart pounding like I just snorted a line of cocaine, I lower my head toward her. And even though there’s a slight panic in her eyes, she lifts her chin toward me and licks her lips. I feel the soft exhale from her lips and I swear it makes me salivate.
