Jack is the mafia prince and has had a horrible childhood, in order to prep him to take over as the King of the Mafia. He's done some dark and dirty things which give him the tough exterior her portrays. Maeve also has had a tough life, her father abdonded her, and left her with her alcoholic mother and drug addicted brother. She's also done things she's not proud of but it's to survive. After coming home one night she finds herself in front of her bloodied brother and two thugs that say he has a debt to pay back and she's got 24 hours to do it, or she'll pay it back by working in a brothel. Knowing that's the last thing she wants to do, she turns to Jack and he's willing to help her on one condition.
This book is everything dark, dirty and tragic. It's a complete page turner and I couldn't get enough. This book will grab you by the throat and you'll find yourself trying to catch your breath. You will feel for Maeve and what she goes through and your heart will fall for Jack even though you know it's wrong! Go one click!
