EXCERPT

Asher took over the kiss, brushing his lips over hers in a tantalizing slow rhythm that coaxed her into following. Slowly his lips parted hers, and his tongue stole into her mouth, seducing hers into a dance. She felt the sensations flow down her neck, into her chest, and tighten her nipples. She rubbed her breasts against his chest, trying to find relief.
Is that me whining?
Ash’s fingers tangled in her hair, tipping her head in a way that allowed for a deeper kiss. She felt his heartbeat against her chest and beneath her fingers at his neck. He nipped at her lips, forcing her to open wider so that their breaths could mingle, and he could tempt her with a thrusting tempo, one that would be even more satisfying if it wasn’t just his tongue and a kiss.
She moved her hands and scrabbled for the hem of his t-shirt.
“Shhhh, slow down,” he soothed.
“No.” She thrust her palms under his shirt and sighed with pleasure when she met with the hot hard planes of his stomach. It was like touching hot velvet steel, only better, because it was Asher. She needed more. She pushed up higher and then groaned as her fingers delved into his chest hair.
“God, Asher.”
“Eden, you don’t mean this, Honey.”
She tugged at his chest hair to punish him for denying her. “I do.”
“Eden,” he protested.
“I need to get close. Just let me get closer to you.” She heard the need in her voice and winced. “Please, Asher?”
As if he knew exactly how much it took for her to ask, he whipped the shirt over his head. It ended up somewhere, she didn’t care where. Then she was lifted and gently lowered down onto the carpet, her head resting onto the makeshift pillow.
“I need to be close to you too, Eden. You, Eden York. No other woman would ever do.”
How does he know the right words to say?
Asher looked her right in the eyes, then slowly, ever so slowly, unbuttoned the first button of her blouse. He placed a kiss on the upper swell of her breast. “So beautiful.”
He trailed kisses upwards, until soon their lips met again, and she was lost in a maelstrom of heat, hunger, and passion. She tried to spread her legs wide so she could wrap them around Asher, but the skirt was too tight, so she had to suffice herself with squeezing his thigh. She pushed up against him, trying to ease her ache.
“Eden—” he started.
“I need more,” she sobbed. After hearing his story. After seeing this man’s soul, she needed him. It felt like the world was crashing in around them, and she wanted him! Was he going to make her beg?
“Shhhhh, I’m here.” He cupped her head tightly to his chest. She started to relax. It was like she could breathe. “It’s okay, Baby, I’ve got you. I won’t let you down.”

Kissing and kissing and kissing.  She was losing herself in a whirlwind of sensation as his hands stroked her neck, her shoulders, trailing down her spine and finally those powerful hands molded her butt and she about lost her mind.
What mind?
She whimpered as she tried to get her hands under his shirt, but her body was in the way.
“Baby, what is it?”
“I want to feel you,” she wailed as she tried tugging again at the front of his sweater.  Then she sighed in relief as she worked around to his back and lifted it up and felt the smooth, taut, muscled skin of his back.  He felt so good.
The afghan slipped onto the deck.  “Honey, we have to take this inside, are you good with that?”
She peppered kisses up the side of his neck, her tongue licking up the taste of him.  “Oh yes, inside.  Hurry, Cullen.”  She struggled to get up.
He flexed his muscles and her eyes went wide as she found herself in his arms as he stood up on the deck.  “You’re not supposed to be able to do that.”
“Carys, we kind of do a lot of physical training in my job,” he chuckled as he tucked one arm under her bottom and easily opened the door to the house.
Strong is good.  I like strong.
She melted against him, secure in the knowledge that he would take care of her.  She didn’t pay any attention as to where they were going.  She continued to stroke the warm heat of his back and lick the sweet and salty skin of his neck.
Her world dipped and she found herself on her back.
“Are you okay, Sweetheart?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
Cullen traced the contours of her face with his fingers, as he stared down at her.  Then she realized he was worried.
“I’ve never felt so safe, or so aroused,” she confessed.
“That’s good, because nothing in my life has ever felt as good as this moment.”
He meant it, she could see it in his eyes.  Carys blinked fast, not wanting to ruin the moment with tears.  Now was a time of joy.
With his eyes on hers, he lowered his head and their lips met.  Kiss after kiss and she was once again lost in a maelstrom of desire.  When his lips left hers, she realized her top was gone and he had moved to brush his tongue across her over-sensitive nipple.
Her back arched so far off the bed she thought she might break in half.  So good, it was glorious.
“More.”
Was that my voice?
Cullen’s mouth surrounded the tip of her breast and he lashed at her with his tongue.  Vaguely she heard her whimpers of pleasure.  She wanted to tell him not to stop.   She wanted to beg him for something more because she was coming apart, but she couldn’t make words form.  She tried to lift her hands to guide him, but they wouldn’t work.
She watched through slitted eyes as he pulled off her jeans and panties.  Every nerve in her body tingled, and she felt every rub of cloth.  Her skin was too sensitive.  It was all too much.  It wasn’t enough.
“God, you’re gorgeous,” he breathed.
Say something.
“Take…”  She languidly lifted one arm.
“What, Honey?”
“You now.”
He bent over her, his clothes rasping along her tender skin.
“What do you want, Carys?”
“You.  Naked.  Now.”
Cullen’s laugh was throaty.  She shivered as it hit every erogenous zone in her body.

Excerpt

Josie couldn’t stop her response. His words had unlocked something deep within her. She couldn’t remember a time when she could literally lean into someone, and she reveled in it. Her arms lifted to encompass his broad shoulders. God, he felt so hard, so good and strong. Trying to get even closer, she lifted on her toes, and gasped in pain.
He must have felt it in their kiss, and correctly interpreted it. Sam broke away and looked down at her. In one quick moment, he lifted her in his arms and then she found herself settled in his lap on her sofa.
She looked up at him in wonder. “You’ll hurt yourself doing that,” she admonished.
“Baby, you’re just a little thing,” Sam said.
Josie snorted in disbelief.
“Okay, you’re lush and curvy, just the way I love a woman. I can’t stand women who are going to blow away at the first strong wind.”
She snorted.  He was so full of it.
“I’m serious.  Compared to me you are a little thing and you’re the perfect size, with the absolute perfect body. Do you understand me?”
It was difficult not to buy into what he was saying when the evidence of his arousal pressed against her butt.  She made a tiny move against him and he groaned.
“You’re so hot and sexy, and you’re going to end up killing me.”  His hands brushed up the sides of her arms, her neck, then ended up cupping her flushed cheeks.  “Are you finally hearing me?”  He gave her a wicked smile.  “Are you at least feeling me?”
She laughed.
“Exactly,” he groaned.  “Your body turns me on, baby.”
Josie looked up at him and saw the absolute truth on his face. She turned away and nuzzled his neck, not wanting him to see the sheen of tears in her eyes. This man who made her blood sizzle was turning her self-image upside down. A huge weight lifted from her heart.  He held her for long moments, then finally started to whisper.
“I know we’re going to talk about our injuries, but can you please tell me how such a beautiful woman could think she needed to hide in clothes four times her size? How she could think that she wouldn’t have men falling at her feet?” Josie couldn’t help giggling at the outrageous statement.
“I’m serious, baby. At least a quarter of your male customers are coming into Sweet Dreams Desserts not just for the pastries but to see the sights.”
Oh Lord, I could fall in love with this man.
Sam tilted her head so she was forced to look at him. “Let me guess, it was some guy who convinced you that you, you were less than perfect.”
She shook her head, then hid her face in his neck.  “Not just a guy.”
“Look at me, honey.  Tell me,” he urged.
She looked up.  “Actually, it started way earlier than that. My mom was one of those women who would blow away in the wind, and she was constantly harping on my weight. So, it’s pretty much ingrained that I’m fat.”
“It sounds like she had some issues.”
Josie’s laugh sounded sad even to her ears.  “Issues.  Yeah.  You could call them that.”
“And the guy?” Sam prompted.
“It was a few years ago.  He seemed okay.  I thought he liked me.  I really did, Sam.”  Josie struggled to keep her voice steady.  “Anyway, when we finally got ready to sleep together, I guess you could say he wasn’t all that impressed with my body.”
She stopped talking.  Sam stroked his hand down her back.  She was acutely aware that he could feel the outline of her corset.  Therein laid the problem.  “Russell insisted the lights be turned off.”  Josie stared at a point over Sam’s shoulder so she didn’t have to see pity in his eyes.
“That guy is an idiot.  You’re gorgeous.”
“You don’t know,” she protested.
“You forget, I’ve seen you.  And I liked everything I saw.”
Once again, he turned her face, and she ended up looking up at him, and what she saw was anger.
For just an instant, she was scared, and he must have seen it.
“No, Josie, I’m not angry at you.  I’m angry at your mother, and that asshole.  Trust me when I say that I completely understand a parent belittling you, boy do I get that, but what I can’t wrap my head around is understanding the asshole’s issues. If I was lucky enough to get a chance to make love to you, I would want all the lights on. I wouldn’t want to miss a thing.”
A full body shudder ripped through her body.
