Book Blurb:

Another day, another step closer to Hell on Earth being unleashed. With every piece that falls into place for the queen of the Underworld, Kymaris gains strength and power that will make it more difficult to defeat her when the time comes. It feels as if we’re in a desperate race to get just one step ahead of her, but my demise feels closer than it ever has before with still so much to do. The first order of business is to unlock the angelic powers with which I was gifted at birth, and Carrick insists on getting help from my archnemesis to do so. Yes, I have to save the world, but my priority has now become rescuing my sister from the Underworld. While there are many questions still to be answered about my long-lost twin, I know I will not win this battle without her by my side. In the midst of all the doom and gloom, Carrick has become my beacon of shining light. Our connection unimaginable, my heart recognizes his as the other half of its whole. Inexplicable and deeper than one could ever imagine, the love I hold for him is forged by destiny, however ill-fated it may turn out to be. And those are the feelings I must hold close…to keep me going. Because a painful lesson is on the horizon—betrayal never comes from your enemies. A Battle of Blood and Stone is book four of the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series and is best enjoyed if read in series order.

The minute Boral leaves Carrick’s condo, Maddox asks, “Feel like blowing off some steam?”

I had thought he meant a workout in the gym, and I was game for that. So I say, “Sure.”

But rather than heading toward the gym, Maddox pivots in the opposite direction and leads me to the southwest side of the condo. It’s an area I don’t go to a lot as it holds a guest suite identical to mine and another guest bedroom.

Maddox opens a door I had thought was a utility closet, and I gasp when I realize it’s a man-cave.

Dark paneled walls and gleaming hardwood floors, but the decor is distinctly different than the cool blues, light creams, and silvery grays throughout the rest of the condo. Persian rugs in crimson, navy, and beige are scattered under various pieces of furniture. There’s a pool table, a bar to seat eight, a poker table, and even a dartboard. One wall boasts a flat-screen TV so large I can’t even begin to fathom how big it is, and it’s sectioned off with a massive U-shaped couch in cocoa brown, distressed leather with ornate carved clawed feet.

It was the antithesis of the rest of the condo, and not just because it’s designed to serve men and their desires for liquor, football, and cigars. It’s just overly staid in my opinion.

“Holy shit,” I murmur as I follow Maddox in. “I had no clue this was even here.”

He plops down in the middle of the couch, then reaches for a remote control. “I brought over my PS4. I thought you and I could practice our battle skills in a more chilled sort of way.”

I snort as I take in the handheld gaming controls, the only reason that I recognize them is that Myles is a big gamer. He waves one at me provocatively and then nods to the cushion beside him.

“Come on, Finley,” he urges with a gleam in his eye. “Take a load off for a while and come spend just half an hour with me blowing shit up.”

Playing video games just isn’t my thing, but it’s better than sitting around and letting my mind become overwhelmed with planning, contingencies, and what-ifs. It would actually do me good just to take a brain break.

“Okay,” I reply almost giddily, moving to the couch and hopping the back of it to land on the cushion beside Maddox. He hands me a controller and says, “We’ll play Final Fantasy VII. You’ll love it.”

I wait as he boots up the game, studying the controller. I assume he’ll give me a lesson on what the buttons do.

“Does Carrick even come in here?” I ask as I kick my tennis shoes off and cross my legs.

“He used to PF,” Maddox says as the game starts to load.

“PF?”

“Pre-Finley.” He grins at me, then takes the controller I’m holding out of my hand. “But only to have a drink, conduct business, or maybe play some poker with friends.”

“But Carrick doesn’t have friends,” I point out. “And why hasn’t he come in here since I came into his life?”

“You are correct… Carrick doesn’t have friends. Maybe I should have said business acquaintances. And I imagine he doesn’t use this room very much these days as he hasn’t had much downtime since you came into his life wreaking havoc.”

I know he’s teasing, so I bump my shoulder against his good naturedly. “Well, maybe I can convince him to play a few games of pool. I’m really good, and I’m not above hustling him.”

“It’s a good thing I’m not a sucker then,” Carrick’s voice sounds from behind us. Maddox and I both twist to look at the door to find Carrick standing there casually, one arm raised and his hand resting against the jamb slightly above his head. The smile on his face is amused.

“You’re back,” I exclaim, pushing up from the couch. I was looking forward to unwinding a little with Maddox, but if it’s a choice between time with him or Carrick, I’m going to choose Carrick every time.

It seems just so natural, despite the fact I know Maddox is watching, to walk right up to Carrick and kiss him.

Or perhaps it’s him who is kissing me.

Regardless, my lips are happy for that brief connection, and I take stock of the fact I’m infinitely happier at this moment than I was a mere thirty seconds ago hanging out with Maddox, and I was pretty damn happy then.

There’s no getting around it.

Carrick just does it for me in all ways.

A Little Bit Wicked by Melissa Foster

Today we have the release week blitz of A LITTLE BIT WICKED by

Melissa Foster! Check it out and be sure to grab your copy today!

Title: A Little Bit Wicked

Author: Melissa Foster

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About A Little Bit Wicked:

A captivatingly funny and deeply emotional new standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster. When the Dark Knights at Bayside and the cast of Bayside Summers collide, sparks fly, and trouble—or maybe love—is not far behind. Set on the sandy shores of Cape Cod, the Wickeds feature fiercely protective heroes, strong heroines, and unbreakable family bonds. If you think bikers are all the same, you haven’t met the Dark Knights. The Dark Knights are a motorcycle club, not a gang. Their members stick together like family and will stop at nothing to keep their communities safe. Their stories are told in the same loving, passionate voice readers have come to adore from Melissa. Some of the Wickeds’ love stories will be hilariously fun, others will tear at your heartstrings with injections of humor, but they will all leave you wishing you could climb between the pages and join them! In A LITTLE BIT WICKED… What do a cocky biker and a businesswoman who has sworn off dating bad boys have in common? According to Chloe Mallery, not much. Justin came into the Wicked family after a harsh upbringing by a thieving father. He’s gone through a lot to become a true Wicked, and he’s made them proud. Now he’s ready to show the woman he loves exactly what type of man he is. But Chloe Mallery has worked hard to move past her difficult upbringing, and she’s wary of getting involved with a man who looks like he’s walked right out of it. When tragedy strikes, will their trying pasts draw them together, or will Justin’s protective nature be too much for Chloe’s independent heart to accept?

Exclusive Excerpt:

UNDERCOVER WAS THE only nightclub in Truro, a small beach town, and like on most summer nights, it was packed. Justin’s eyes swept over the crowded dance floor as he made his way toward the bar. Colored lights rained over scantily clad women and testosterone-laden men, who were bumping and grinding to a seductive beat. He’d seen Chloe dance plenty of times when they were out with friends. She had moves that could make a dead man come. As he wove past the last few tables and joined Blaine and the others at the bar, he was relieved not to have spotted her on the dance floor with another guy. Blaine ordered a round of beers and motioned across the room. Justin followed his gaze to Chloe, looking sexy as sin in a black sleeveless dress as she entered the room from the hallway that led to the ladies’ room. Her hair was like spun gold. It brushed her shoulders and framed her gorgeous face as she moved gracefully through the crowd. She stood out like a diamond in a sea of rocks. Chloe didn’t rely on low-cut tops or short skirts like other women did. She was confident and smart, and she had a sharp mouth. A mouth Justin had fantasized about so many times, he was sure he knew exactly how it would taste the first time they kissed, how it would feel the first time she wrapped her luscious lips around his cock, and the way that mouth would look when she cried out his name as his face was buried between her legs. “Damn, bro,” Zander said, tearing Justin from his reverie. “I don’t care if you smash my face. She’d be worth every bruise.” Justin shot him a dark stare, then turned his attention back to Chloe as she lowered herself to a chair across from another fucking clean-cut Ken doll wearing a button-down shirt and tie. “Looks like a date to me,” Blaine said, handing Justin a beer. Justin took a swig, his eyes trained on Chloe. As though she could feel him watching her, she looked over. Their eyes collided with the scorching flames of a blowtorch. Her lips tipped up at the edges, and Justin felt a tug deep in his chest. There it was, the moment that burned past the heat to the something more he couldn’t name but knew existed. In pure Chloe fashion, she narrowed her eyes and shifted in her chair, crossing her long legs. He fucking loved her legs and she knew it. She lifted her chin in that defiant way she’d been taunting him with since the day they’d met and turned her beautiful eyes on the geek sitting across from her. Justin ground out a curse. He tried to focus on the shit his brothers and cousin were saying, but like metal to magnet, his attention was drawn back to Chloe. She looked bored, and her eyes skirted back to him. That’s it, baby, you know you want me.

“Were you dreaming?” the man asked incredulously as he sat down in the empty chair opposite to Will. Will recognized his voice. “You clean up nicely,” the man continued in an almost cheerful manner as if nothing occurred.
He didn’t respond and glared at him, a muscle in his jaw twitched as the anger in his eyes poured through. These people destroyed everything he had ever known and loved in a matter of minutes.
Like most humans, he thought. The man cleared his throat.
“Who made you?”
Will stared straight back. “God.”
The man seemed amused by his response.
“My name is Patrick Riordan. I work for a company called Auctus. Do you know what that is?” Will ignored him, scanning the room and trying to pick up a signal. “You won’t be able to hack your way out, I’m afraid,” said Riordan. “You know what this is, right?”
He sighed and squeezed his eyes shut. “Faraday room.”
Riordan nodded. “An advanced version of it, yes. Any and all electrical, phone, and wireless signals are completely blocked off. Nothing can come in or out.”
Will’s jaw tightened.
“You overrode the hunter’s systems and manipulated the program in record time. I’ve never seen that before.” His eyes were wide with curiosity and wonder. “How did you do it?”
Will shrugged and gave a half-smile. “Must’ve been pure charisma.”
Riordan chuckled and stared at him with admiration. “I don’t think you understand what’s happening here, friend. Last winter, a hunter brought in a proxy deer to one of our stores hoping to get it refurbished. But when one of our techs uploaded its system, your image popped up in a recording. Coincidentally the deer’s program had been infiltrated. And after seeing what you did to my proxies yesterday, it’s safe to assume you’re the cause.”
Will seemed unimpressed by the news and shrugged. “What do you want from me?”
“I want to know what you are, and who made you.” Riordan shook his head. “I’m afraid we cannot figure you out. The layer of tissue covering your metal has traces of advanced biological nanotechnology, which proxies don’t have and aren’t compatible with. You also have the most sophisticated firewall program I have ever come across. And I live and breathe AI. Who made you?”

“You’re sitting at my desk.” She put the pot on the reception desk and folded her arms.
Sam shuffled his papers, spreading them across the polished wood surface for no reason other than to keep his gaze off her distractingly perfect breasts. “I didn’t see your name on it.”
“Just look at your lease. You’ll see it written across the top, or can’t you read big words like Patel?”
“I don’t recall seeing any identification,” he countered. “For all I know, you could have just walked in off the street. You’re certainly not dressed like you’re running a business.”
Eyes blazing, she glared. “What’s wrong with how I’m dressed?”
“An apron and a pink tracksuit with Juicy written across the ass are hardly serious business attire and they certainly don’t scream swipe right on desi Tinder.”
Sam didn’t know if there was such a thing as Tinder for people of South Asian descent living abroad, but if it did exist, he and Layla would definitely not have been a match.
Layla gave a growl of frustration. “You may be surprised to hear that I don’t live my life seeking male approval. I’m just getting over a breakup so I’m a little bit fragile. Last night, I went out with Daisy and drank too much, smoked something I thought was a cigarette, danced on a speaker, and fell onto some loser named Jimbo, whose girlfriend just happened to be an MMA fighter and didn’t like to see me sprawled on top of her man. We had a minor physical altercation and I was kicked out of the bar. Then I got dumped on the street by my Uber driver because I threw up in his cab. So today, I just couldn’t manage office wear. It’s called self-care, and we all need it sometimes. Danny certainly didn’t mind.” Danny certainly didn't mind."
"Who's Danny?" The question came out before he could stop it.
"Someone who appreciates all I've got going here…" She ran a hand in and out of her generous curves. "… and isn't hung up on trivial things like clothes." She tugged off the apron and folded it on the crock-pot.
"I'm not hung up on clothes either," Sam teased. "When I'm with a woman I prefer her to have no clothes at all."
"You're disgusting." Layla grabbed her crock-pot and donuts and marched into the small kitchen at the back of the office.
Sam heard cupboards bang. Cutlery clatter. Angry mutters and a huff. A few minutes later Layla marched back out with a bowl of dal in one hand and two donuts circling her finger like rings.
Only when she sat down and proceeded to eat one of the donuts off her finger did he realize he hadn't done any work since she walked in.
"Donuts and dal are not two foods that naturally go together," he pointed out.
Layla took a giant bite and licked her lips. "Do you not have work to do? Or are you just going to sit there and look pretty?"

Why was he doing this? He didn’t have to. Her family was too preoccupied to notice what he was or wasn’t doing. He could drag Emily into the bushes and make out with her and no one would be the wiser. Except for her. She would be. And she wouldn’t like it. At all.
Oh my God, what is wrong with me?
“What’s wrong?” His voice was soft. “You look pissed off.”
“Nothing.” She stirred her brush with more force than necessary, sloshing water onto the table. Nothing at all. She wasn’t upset about him having a fantasy make-out session with Emily. Not in the least. Because that would be ridiculous. “Seriously, Owen, what am I painting?”
“Whatever you’re best at.” He turned to wink at the toddler in line. “I trust you.”
Honor was momentarily distracted by the sharp angle of his jaw and thick column of his neck. He smelled incredible. He had a mole high on his cheek and the thickest lashes—
He was staring back at her now, unflinching. So much so, it was hard to breathe. Too close. Way, way too close.
“Owen.” She cleared her throat.
“Honor.” He tilted his head, those hazel eyes flashing.
“Fine.” He wanted to tease her. To make her…squirm? She’d do exactly what he said. She was best at butterflies. And Owen Nelson deserved the best and brightest butterfly ever. She was tempted to do a full face but that would keep him in her chair, up close and far too personal, for longer than she was prepared to handle.
“Let’s do this.”
In order to paint a person’s face, she had to lean in. Sometimes, on an adult, she’d stand to get a better angle. Owen was tall, so she was standing. But that put things in awkward places. Every time she leaned in, he took a sharp little breath. She hadn’t touched him, wouldn’t touch him, but something was definitely bothering him because he was sitting, eyes closed, hands gripping the arms of her chair.
The butterfly was beautiful.
With long, black antennae, massive wings in brilliant rainbow hues, and—because it was a girl butterfly—she had to have rosy cheeks and long eyelashes. It was so pretty, she decided to add a flower on the side of his nose. And, just to make it perfect, sprinkled the whole thing with iridescent glitter.
“Um, Honor.” Emily was horrified.
Looking at it now, on his gorgeous face, she was a little horrified too. She’d gone too far. It was too late to wipe it off. Everyone had seen it.
“Done?” he asked, his eyes popping open.
She stared down at him. “I guess so.” But she didn’t offer him the mirror. In fact, she hid it behind her back and stepped back. “I should probably apologize.”
His brows shot up. “Does it look bad?
“It’s pretty,” one of the little girls in line reassured him.
“Pretty, huh?” He stepped forward. “Let me see, Honor.”

Publisher Weekly Review:

“… Readers will find it easy to root for their mutual care to blossom into love, but the pair’s children have a tougher time adjusting to their new relationship, providing some thorny obstacles for the budding couple. Graham and Felicity are great parents and they make great partners, and Summers does a good job of grounding all the drama of their lives in sweetness. Readers will be pleased.”

Make Me Fall by Ember Leigh

Today we have the blog tour for Ember Leigh’s MAKE ME FALL! Check it out and be sure to grab your copy today!

Title: Make Me Fall

Author: Ember Leigh

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Make Me Fall:

There’s one rule in my family.   Stay away from the Daly brothers. We were raised to know them as users. Manipulators. But I only ever saw Connor as the enigmatic senior hottie who dropped into fifth period to teach us about the perils of drunk driving.   So when my first big girl job out of college ends up with us working at the same company, it’s heart throb city all over again. Except he’s way ahead of the game. Successful, talented, put together. I’m just a frumpy twenty-something in a quarter life crisis who doesn’t know a glue stick from a makeup highlighter.   He would never want me, even though he’s all I ever wanted in secret. So when we cross paths one night at the bar and one drink leads to another, he slaps me with an offer I can’t refuse.   Accompany him back to Bayshore, flight included.   Only stipulation? Pose as his girlfriend.   Our families will flip, but I’m not strong enough to say no to those baby blues, especially if it means I’ll have a chance to spend the next two weeks with my adolescent heart throb.

“I think we should kiss.”
The words sear through me like a surprise lightning bolt. Kiss?
Kiss Connor? The very thing I’ve been fantasizing about doing since junior year of high school?
Abso-fucking-lutely.
“To prove what a special couple we are,” he murmurs,
and squeezes the top of my waist. To anybody else, it looks a
s if he’s murmuring sweet nothings. I giggle, rolling my lips inward.
I angle myself toward him more, finally daring to meet his gaze.
“Yeah?” I ask, nudging him with my shoulder.
From this angle, he’s more gorgeous than ever.
The corners of his eyes crinkle as he looks down at me.
He wets his bottom lip, that leather and spice not only
filling my senses but drowning me completely. I’m a goner.
Send for the rescue boat. The S. S. Kinsley is headed to the bottom of Lake Erie.
His eyes search my face for a moment, and then
he bridges the distance between our mouths,
his lips landing against mine so softly, yet so intensely,
that I have to silence a gasp. I grip the side of his arm,
pushing up onto my tiptoes so that we can mash our lips together even more.
Because now that I’ve had a taste of him? I need all of him.
He smiles through the kiss, which leads to a second kiss,
which leads to a very noticeable damp surge in my panties.
My fingers dig into the sleeve of his white button-down.
“Jeez, guys,” Grayson interjects a moment later,
as we’re rounding the corner into kiss number three. “Get a room.”
Connor breaks away, and I collapse against him.
My heart is pounding between my ears, and I’m not certain I’ll be
able to walk out of the backyard on my own two feet.
Three kisses with Connor is all it takes to undo me. And we didn’t even use our tongues.
“We do have a room, you know,” he says to me,
loud enough for the others to hear. I laugh weakly,
because of course he’s saying it for them.
He doesn’t mean it. Even though the fake kisses
he gave me easily win first, second, and third place in the history of every kiss of my lifetime.

“Sorry, guys.” I give his cousins an apologetic smile,
but I’m not sorry at all. God, it’s nice to play the
coy girlfriend part. Connor doesn’t move his arm
from my waist, and he effortlessly rejoins
the conversation about everybody’s current work situation.
I can barely focus on what they’re saying. I couldn’t care less, actually.
I just want Connor to kiss me again.
But he doesn’t, and the conversation whiles on.
Later, while Grayson is explaining his firm’s city of
origin to his cousins and I’ve more than zoned out, I catch
Connor’s intense gaze. He’s looking at me like he’s gobbling
me up. Like he doesn’t just tolerate me, but that he actually likes me. Maybe even wants me.
Or maybe I’m so starved for affection
that I’ll see it anywhere.
At any rate, the lines are blurring. My panties are
damp from wanting him, and I might not ever recover from those kisses.
If this is what posing as Connor’s girlfriend is going to
be like for the next week and a half, I might not make it out of Bayshore alive.
