Fillmore Siblings Series by Melissa Schroeder

Fillmore Siblings Series
Author: Melissa Schroeder
Genre: Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy

HATE TO LOVE YOU

Dive into this sizzling romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author Melissa Schroeder.

He is absolutely, completely, and undoubtedly the one man I shouldn’t fantasize about.

Other than being my boss, he’s too rigid, a workaholic with a checkered past when it comes to women. Knowing all that, I shouldn’t think about how his hands would feel on my body, or how his voice would sound when he whispered my name in the dark.

But I can resist him. Mainly because he can’t stand me, and he’s the kind of boss who makes me think about murder on a daily basis. That’s until he shows me his softer side and ignoring my need for him becomes impossible.

No, softer side or not, I have to resist the lure of Grady Hawthorne because if I don’t, I’m pretty sure I won’t survive the fall.

Warning: This book includes a smack-talking executive assistant, a workaholic boss who has the most amazing…mouth, irritating siblings, a drunken night that ends in jail, and a happily ever after that will make you sigh. Author assumes no responsibility for overheated readers.

LOVE TO HATE YOU

Join USA Today Bestselling author Melissa Schroeder for a frenemies to lovers romantic comedy with a sexy, tool belt wearing hero who is on a mission to get his woman.

I’m taking a stand. I’m done with him, our show, and my stupid heart. I want nothing else to do with Travis Fillmore. Or maybe I’m lying.

No, really, I mean it.

Ugh, I need help when even I don’t believe me.

Travis is my best friend’s brother and the object of my infatuation. He’s also my co-host for our home improvement show, and we are zooming to the top right now. Unfortunately, I can’t work with him anymore. He’s pushed me too far with his antics, and I’m walking away. Only, he just realized how much he needs me on the show, and he wants me back. He just pops into town and thinks I’ll forgive and forget.

At first, I refuse to even consider returning, but he won’t go away. He tells me that he’s changed, that he can be professional. And I believe him. Until he kisses me…and then does a whole lot more. Soon, we can’t keep our hands off each other. But even as I think we might be building something beautiful, someone threatens our happiness. An overzealous stalker…I can deal with that. What scares me is the man who could shatter my heart and leave me broken.

Warning: This book includes breaking and entering, donuts, sarcastic friends, a woman with many trust issues, a man who doesn’t realize what he wants until he almost loses it, a weirdo who doesn’t understand boundaries, nosey neighbors, a trip to the Juniper Jail again, and a happily ever after for two people who finally admit they are in love.

AUTHOR BIO

From an early age, USA Today Bestselling author Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book.

Since her first published book, Grace Under Pressure, Mel has had over 90 short stories, novellas, and novels published. She has written in genres ranging from historical to contemporary to futuristic and has worked with 8 publishers although she handles most of her publishing herself. She is best known for her Harmless and Santini series.

After years of following her military husband around the country and world, Mel happily lives with her family in horse and wine country in Northern Virginia.

"The look in her eyes as her tongue darts out to lick her bottom lip is too much for me to handle."

4 Hatred never looked hotter Stars!!! Wow... where do I begin?
Oliver is your typical spoiled, rich kid. But as perfect as he seems to be on the outside, he's totally flawed... and as much as you want to hate him, you really can't. Savannah HATES Oliver after the way he treated her best friend and step sister Rylie. And while Rylie has forgiven him, Savannah just can't let go of the past. And once these two are face-to-face again, all bets are off.

The passion between Oliver and Savannah is off the charts sexy! I think the hatred between them just fuels the passion. I loved that they are both completely flawed, but somehow manage to find things that they both love in each other. I loved the angst between these two... it was definitely off the charts!!! Excited to read more from Alex and Melissa in the future!

I heard footsteps behind me and realized I’d failed to elude him.
“What are you doing?” Chase asked, his hands gripping the straps on his backpack.
“You know what I’m doing.”
He released one of his straps and slipped his hand into mine.
My eyes shot down to where his big hand was linked with mine. I clenched my teeth. “Let go.”
He shook his head as I tried releasing my hand.
“So, it’s been you all along?” I said.
“What?”
“The one I need to be careful of.”
He scoffed, before leading me away from the elevator.
“What the hell are you doing?” I asked, trying to resist him but he was too strong.
He said nothing.
My eyes shot around. There was no one around to help me if I screamed. I’d seen enough movies to know you never go to a second location with your kidnapper.
He moved us through the high shelves filled with old books until we were in a deserted corner of the library.
My heartbeat thrashed as he backed me into a wall, my backpack softening the hard wall behind me. His hands landed on the wall above me and he kept me still with the weight of his body.
“You are the most infuriating girl I’ve ever met,” he said, his blue eyes staring into mine.
As nervous as I felt, I wouldn’t let him see my fear. “Then let me go and you never have to see me again.”
“Oh, I wish it were that simple.”
I swallowed around the lump that had shot to my throat.
“I can’t stop thinking about you, Soph.”
My eyes widened.
“And it’s driving me fucking crazy.”

I stumbled my way over to the curb and sat down. My head throbbed and my stomach roiled, though I couldn’t imagine anything was left inside me. I pulled a pack of wintergreen gum from my pocket and stuffed three pieces into my mouth, contemplating my next move.
I could go back in and let Chantel know I was leaving, if she even noticed I disappeared. I could try to walk back to the dorm without face-planting somewhere along the way—if I could remember the way back. Or, I could call an Uber in hopes that they knew where my dorm was.
“What the fuck are you doing?” a deep voice called, cutting through the silent darkness.
My body stiffened.
Footsteps approached, and a tall guy with dark hair and light blue eyes stood there, glaring down at me. “I said what are you doing?”
“No, you said what the fuck are you doing.”
His eyes absorbed the details of my face with disdain. “You didn’t answer my question.”
“What’s your problem? You scared your little party’s gonna get broken up if someone sees me out here?” I gasped mockingly. “All that wasted beer and unused condoms. The horror.”
His eyes narrowed. “Is that supposed to be funny?”
“Not any funnier than you out here reprimanding me, frat boy.”
He dragged his hands through his hair as his head dropped back. “What the fuck?”
I unsteadily pushed myself to my feet, praying to God I didn’t fall face first in front of him. “No worries, frat boy. I was leaving anyway.”
He grabbed my arm, his grip tight as he stopped me from going anywhere. “Don’t come back here.”
A wave of nausea washed over me. “Excuse me?”
He clenched his teeth. “You’re not an Alpha Phi which makes you unwelcome here.”
A cold chill rushed up my spine, but I maintained my composure. “No problem. Your party sucked anyway.” I turned and walked in the direction I hoped my dorm was in, putting one foot in front of the other and trying to appear steady. Because despite his harsh tone and rudeness, the bastard stood on the curb, watching me until I disappeared into the darkness.

BELINDA

“Jesus fucking Christ, Belinda!”
“What?”
“Are you blind? Or deaf? Or dumb? Or what?”
I just stare at him.
Vann takes a step forward, forcing me to take a step back too. And my step is actually a step up. He points his finger at me. I swat it away.
“I’m gonna say this once, OK? Just once.”
“Say whatever the fuck you want. I don’t care what you do.”
He climbs one step. And so do I. “I like you,” he says, climbing another step. So I climb another step. “I like your filthy mouth, Belinda Baker. I like your stupid cowboy boots. I like your pink hair.” He keeps climbing the steps, so I have to keep climbing the steps. “I like the way you road-trip.”
“What?” I’m so confused.
He’s still climbing the steps and now my back is against my front door. “I like the way you wear that glitter shit on your eyelids in the summer. And the way you wear fingerless gloves in the winter even though you complain, every single day, that your fucking hands are cold. I like the way your hair smells when you show up for work and it’s still wet. I like the way you spin on your stupid stool in front of the shop cash register and glare at the giggly sorority girls like you can’t wait for them to wake up sober tomorrow and realize they just paid a hundred bucks for a My Little Mermaid tramp stamp. I like the way you bite your lip when you’re tattooing and the way you always have a smear of ink on the side of your face by the time you’re done.”
I reach up to touch my face.
“Yes, you have ink there, right now. And I love that. Because you don’t even care enough to check the mirror after you’re done with a client to notice that you always have ink smeared on your fucking face after you tattoo someone. I like the way you kick at stones when you walk down the street like you’re some troubled teen with pregnancy issues.”
“What?” I laugh.
“I like the way you bitch, and moan, and complain that no one takes you seriously. In fact, I love that no one takes you seriously, because then they’d figure out just how awesome you are, and I’m afraid you’ll actually find someone else before I can convince you that I am good for you. I want to date you, Belinda Baker. And you know what really pissed me off tonight?”
He pauses.
I become uneasy. “Am I supposed to guess?”
“I’m not mad that you fucked Tony in the alley. OK? That’s not it. I’m angry that you gave him the chance that I deserve.”
My stomach… falls. I don’t know of any other way to describe the feeling I get when I internalize those last few words of his. Except… falling. Like the world has just been yanked out from under me. Like I’m adrift in a sea of mistakes.
Because he’s absolutely right.
“Vann—”
“No,” he says, still seething. “No.” He holds up one finger. “I’m not done. You don’t get to talk yet. I’ve been holding this in all fucking night while you laughed and joked with my goddamned brother and his stupid yoked-out army friend. Who, by the way, was leering at you the entire time.”
“He was not!”
“He so was!”
“He was lying face down, Vann!”
“I just want to say this.” He pauses again and his chest is rising and falling very quickly, like he’s really upset. And his lips are falling into a deep frown. And his face is becoming flushed with heat. “I have earned my chance, Belinda. I didn’t become your friend because I wanted to get in your pants. I didn’t get you the apprentice job because I thought we’d be good together. I didn’t drive you and Tara two thousand miles to Key West because I thought maybe you’d finally see me for what I am. I did all those things because I like you. With no expectations whatsoever. I did all those things because I enjoy you. And when we’re together, life is fun. Even when we’re running from guys called Diablo, and smuggling people on boats, and especially when we’re just hanging out doing nothing. Saying nothing. That’s my favorite time with you. Because we’re at that place now. That place where we’re comfortable. And I keep waiting for you to see how good we are. And you just”—he shakes his head—“refuse! You just refuse to even consider me. But this asshole Tony Dumas shows up out of nowhere and you give him all the considerations. You say you don’t like him—”
“I don’t!”
“You say that, but then why, Belinda? Why do you give him all the chances he hasn’t earned?”
