**RECLAIM is a standalone that can be read and enjoyed independently. However, it does contain spoilers for RELEASE**

Prologue
Nora

Choices.

Everyone makes them.

From mundane and monotonous to life-changing and unimaginable.

But regardless what that choice may be, life is lived in the consequences.

People want to believe that decisions are weighted. In theory, “What should I have for dinner?” should fall on the opposite end of the spectrum as “Should I swallow this bottle of pills?” But in reality, even the smallest decision can change the trajectory of your entire life.

“Oh God!” Ramsey yelled, scrambling across the dirt road on all fours. I watched in the rearview mirror as he paused, hovering over the bloody and lifeless body, not sure which broken part to touch first. “No. No. No.”

I wanted to care. I wanted to be flooded with guilt and regret. I just wanted to fucking feel something again. Anything.

Instead, I sat there, stunned and utterly numb.

My brother’s mouth moved, fast and sharp, but I couldn’t hear him over the ringing in my ears. With shaky hands, I tried to open the car door twice before I was successful. My chest vibrated as a barrage of emotions ricocheted inside me, none of them able to escape. All of them slicing me to the core of my soul.

Or maybe it was only the remnants of my soul, because the rest of it had been destroyed long before that starry night.

I swung my legs out, my head swirling with the high of adrenaline, and I struggled to find even one breath of oxygen.

My brother was seventeen, but he looked like a man as he started chest compressions and rescue breathing. Curiously, I wondered where he’d learned that. Then I immediately wished he hadn’t.

It was pointless though. He was dead. I didn’t have to be up close and personal to know that.

“Come on, come on, come on,” Ramsey chanted, never giving up, just like the hero I knew him to be. “Breathe.”

That asshole didn’t deserve to breathe. He didn’t deserve anything. He’d already stolen it all from me.

“Stop,” I forced out.

Ramsey’s panicked gaze swung my way. “What the fuck happened?”

How much time did he have?

Wood splintering into my back.

Blink.

His fingers digging into my flesh.

Blink.

The welcomed darkness that swallowed me as my only way to survive.

Blink.

Thea.

Thea.

Thea.

“Let him die!” I roared so loudly that it scorched my throat.

But at least I felt that.

The sound of people talking in the distance interrupted my echo, and my brother’s panic skyrocketed. Ramsey quickly abandoned his attempts to revive him and raced in my direction, but just seeing him lying there, alone and lifeless the way I would always feel, gave me a sick sense of pleasure.

I should have been crying.

Why wasn’t I crying?

I’d spent two years living in fear—nightmares, sobbing until I physically passed out, hiding behind a smile for fear people could see the filth behind it.

Maybe there was nothing left of me to give. Not even tears.

The voices got closer, and Ramsey stepped into my line of sight, blocking out that monster the way I would never be able to do.

“You gotta go,” he barked. “I’ll take care of this, but you gotta go before someone sees you here.”

“I’m not leaving.”

He grabbed my shoulders and gave me a hard shake. “Listen to me. You have to leave. I’ll get the car and meet you back at the house. If anyone asks, you haven’t seen me. Tell them I’ve been with Thea all night.”

I could hear the words coming from his mouth, but I was struggling to process what he was saying. It was like an optical illusion: I could see the picture in front of me, but none of it felt real.

I glanced around and his car was still running, the front end smashed and covered in blood. “What if they see your car?”

“I’ll…I’ll… I’ll tell ’em I hit a deer or something.” He looked over his shoulder as three silhouettes appeared at the end of the Johnsons’ driveway. “Please, Nora,” he hissed. “I promise you this is going to be okay. But you can’t be here. If they find out what he did to you, they’ll know this wasn’t an accident. I can’t risk that. Okay? You weren’t here. Nothing happened. It was a terrible, terrible accident. End of story.” He palmed each side of my face and pressed a shaky kiss to my forehead.

That might have been more jarring for me than running over a man.

Ramsey wasn’t the most affectionate brother. We hugged on occasion, and when I was little, he’d always ruffled my hair or pinched me playfully on the side.

But he wasn’t a forehead kisser.

“Ramsey,” I choked out, the adrenaline starting to ebb from my system, a hurricane of emotions moving in.

“Please,” he whispered, his desperate and pleading brown eyes sparkling with unshed tears in the moonlight. “Just run home and get in bed. I’ll meet you there. Everything’s going to be okay.”

Okay. That was a word I recognized all too well. Not good. Or great. Or even fine. Just simply okay was a state of being for us.

Besides, Ramsey had never steered me wrong before.

So I squeezed his hand, and like a coward, I ran.

Choices. Everyone makes them.

But mine would ruin us all.

My Fallen Saint by J. Kenner

My Fallen Saint, an all-new sensual and enthralling contemporary romance from New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner is releasing September 15th, and we have the first sneak peek!

MFS - SP

CHAPTER ONE
The wind stings my face and the glare from the afternoon sun obscures my vision as I fly down the long stretch of Sunset Canyon Road at well over a hundred miles per hour.
My heart pounds and my palms are sweaty, but not because of my speed. On the contrary, this is what I need. The rush. The thrill. I crave it like a junkie, and it affects me like a toddler on a sugar high.
Honestly, it’s taking every ounce of my willpower not to put my 1965 Shelby Cobra through her paces and kick her powerful engine up even more.
I can’t, though. Not today. Not here.
Not when I’m back, and certainly not when my homecoming has roused a swarm of butterflies in my stomach. When every curve in this road brings back memories that have tears clogging my throat and my bowels rumbling with nerves.
Dammit.
I pound down the clutch, then slam my foot onto the brake, shifting into neutral as I simultaneously yank the wheel sharply to the left. The tires squeal in protest as I make a U-turn across the oncoming lane, the car’s ass fishtailing before skidding to a stop in the turnout. I’m breathing hard, and honestly, I think Shelby is, too. She’s more than a car to me; she’s a lifelong best friend, and I don’t usually fuck with her like this.
Now, though…
Well, now she’s dangerously close to the cliff’s edge, her entire passenger side resting parallel to a void that boasts a view of the distant coastline. Not to mention a seriously stunning glimpse of the small downtown below.
I ratchet up the emergency brake as my heartbeat pounds in my throat. And only when I’m certain we won’t go skidding down the side of the cliff do I kill Shelby’s engine, wipe my sweaty palms on my jeans, and let my body relax.
Well, hello to you, too, Laguna Cortez.
With a sigh, I take off my ball cap, allowing my dark curls to bounce free around my face and graze my shoulders.
“Get a grip, Ellie,” I murmur, then suck in a deep breath. Not so much for courage—I’m not afraid of this town—but for fortitude. Because Laguna Cortez beat me down before, and it’s going to take all of my strength to walk those streets again.
One more breath, and then I step out of the car. I walk to the edge of the turnout. There’s no barrier, and loose dirt and small stones clatter down the hill as I balance on the very edge.
Below me, jagged rocks protrude from the canyon walls. Further down, the harsh angles smooth to gentle slopes with homes of all shapes and sizes nestled among the rocks and scrubby plants. The tiled roofs follow the tightly winding road that leads down to the Arts District. Tucked neatly in the valley formed by a U of hills and canyons, the area opens onto the town’s largest beach and draws a steady stream of tourists and locals.
As far as the public is concerned, Laguna Cortez is one of the gems of the Pacific Coast. A laid-back town with just under sixty-thousand people and miles of sandy and rocky beaches.
Most people would give their right arm to live here.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s hell.
It’s the place where I lost my heart and my virginity. Not to mention everybody close to me. My parents. My uncle.
And Alex.
The boy I’d loved. The man who broke me.
Not a single one of them is here anymore. My family, all dead. And Alex, long gone.
I ran, too, desperate to escape the weight of my losses and the sting of betrayal. I swore to myself that I’d never return.
As far as I was concerned, nothing would get me back.
But now it’s ten years later, and here am I again, drawn back down to hell by the ghosts of my past.

Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout

KFF- SP banner

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire, an all-new sexy fantasy novel in the A Blood and Ash Series by New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout is coming September 1st and we have an exciting sneak peek!

KingdomofFleshandFire ebook
“We go home to marry, my Princess.” As in get married? To him? Suddenly, I thought of all those girlish fantasies I’d had before I learned who I was and what was expected of me—daydreams given life because of the love my parents had for one another. Never once did those little-girl dreams include a proposal that wasn’t remotely an actual proposal. Nor did they incorporate it being announced at a table full of strangers, half of which wanted me dead. And those dreams surely hadn’t involved what had to be the kingdom’s worst—and possibly most insane—non-proposal of marriage to a man currently holding me captive. Perhaps I had some sort of ailment of the brain. Maybe I was experiencing hallucinations brought on by stress. After all, there had been so much painful death to process. His betrayal to deal with. And I’d just learned I was descended from Atlantia, a kingdom I’d been raised to believe was the source of all the evil and tragedy in the land. Stress-induced hallucinations seemed a far more believable reason than what was actually happening. All I could do was stare at the larger hand holding my much smaller one. His skin was slightly darker than mine as if kissed by the sun. Years of wielding a sword with deadly, graceful precision had left his palms callused. He lifted my hand to an indecently well-formed and full mouth. To lips that were somehow soft yet unrelentingly firm. Lips that had spun beautiful words into the air and whispered heated, wicked promises against my bare skin. Lips that had paid homage to the many scars that riddled my body and face. Lips that had also spoken blood-soaked lies. Now, that mouth was pressed against the top of my hand in a gesture that I would’ve cherished for an eternity and thought exquisitely tender just days or weeks ago. Simple things like hand-holding or chaste kisses had been forbidden to me. As were being wanted or feeling desire. I had long since accepted that I would never experience those things. Until him. I lifted my gaze from our joined hands, from that mouth that was already curving up on one side, hinting at a dimple in the right cheek, and from the slowly parting lips that revealed just a hint of fatally sharp fangs. His hair brushed the nape of his neck and toppled over his forehead, and the thick strands were such a deep shade of black, it often shone blue in the sunlight. With high and angular cheekbones, a straight nose, and a proud, carved jaw, he often reminded me of the large, graceful cave cat I had seen once in Queen Ileana’s palace as a child. Beautiful, but in the way all wild, dangerous predators were. My heart stammered as my eyes locked onto his, orbs a shade of stunning, cool amber. I knew I was staring at Hawke— WANT MORE: Download the entire chapter here>> https://BookHip.com/RNZCCJ

Synopsis
Is Love Stronger Than Vengeance?
A Betrayal…

Everything Poppy has ever believed in is a lie, including the man she was falling in love with. Thrust among those who see her as a symbol of a monstrous kingdom, she barely knows who she is without the veil of the Maiden. But what she does know is that nothing is as dangerous to her as him. The Dark One. The Prince of Atlantia. He wants her to fight him, and that’s one order she’s more than happy to obey. He may have taken her, but he will never have her.
A Choice….
Casteel Da’Neer is known by many names and many faces. His lies are as seductive as his touch. His truths as sensual as his bite. Poppy knows better than to trust him. He needs her alive, healthy, and whole to achieve his goals. But he’s the only way for her to get what she wants—to find her brother Ian and see for herself if he has become a soulless Ascended. Working with Casteel instead of against him presents its own risks. He still tempts her with every breath, offering up all she’s ever wanted. Casteel has plans for her. Ones that could expose her to unimaginable pleasure and unfathomable pain. Plans that will force her to look beyond everything she thought she knew about herself—about him. Plans that could bind their lives together in unexpected ways that neither kingdom is prepared for. And she’s far too reckless, too hungry, to resist the temptation.
A Secret…
But unrest has grown in Atlantia as they await the return of their Prince. Whispers of war have become stronger, and Poppy is at the very heart of it all. The King wants to use her to send a message. The Descenters want her dead. The wolven are growing more unpredictable. And as her abilities to feel pain and emotion begin to grow and strengthen, the Atlantians start to fear her. Dark secrets are at play, ones steeped in the blood-drenched sins of two kingdoms that would do anything to keep the truth hidden. But when the earth begins to shake, and the skies start to bleed, it may already be too late.

I want your pleasure.
Of course, I didn’t say it loud enough for her to hear me. That would have shaken her in a way I’m not sure she would have been able to rebound from.
She was already fighting a losing battle. I saw the way she reacted when I touched her. There’s a war raging inside her that mimics my own. One we both want to fight for but are afraid we’d lose too much even if we won in the end.
For me, I can’t risk her finding out the one thing that’s holding my entire life together right now. The lie I created. Daphne needs to finish rehab. She needs to find her way back to who she once was. Before the drugs took over her life. Before everything turned dark.
Still, there’s this growing need inside me, and every time I lay eyes on Harley, it’s compounded. It strengthens, drawing me closer to her. Closer to wanting to risk it all for a little taste of heaven.
My lack of control over my actions speaks volumes. I’ve never had this strong of a reaction to any woman in my life. The last time I wanted anyone even close to this much was in college.
She was a beauty, sure. Sexy as hell. Available. And I had her, but I wasn’t the only one. Everyone had a taste. She slept with more of my friends than I care to admit. When I found out, I wanted to blame them for seducing her, but it was the other way around.
Drunk college boys aren’t that hard to get in bed.
All you have to do is offer, and most of them jump at the chance.
So that’s what she did. Over and over again. And no one said a word to me.
I should have known she wasn’t worth it. I barely had to put in any effort. She slept with me on our first date. She invited herself back to my dorm room. Didn’t care that my roommate was fast asleep in the twin-sized bed only a few feet away.
There was no chase, no thrill in being with her.
For her, it was all about sex. She wanted to get her rocks off, and anyone willing to help her was welcome. She wasn’t even ashamed of her actions.
It wasn’t long after we broke up that I found out more about her. About where she came from. Who she really was. It helped me to understand her a little better. I’m sure she assumed none of us would want anything to do with her if we knew her truth.
The thing is, she didn’t even give us a chance to get to know her.
I couldn’t give a shit less where she came from. We’re all ashamed of our families or our past at some point in time. It’s what we do to change our situation that matters. It’s what we make of ourselves in the process.
We need to learn from our mistakes so we don’t repeat them.
So when I look at Harley, knowing she’s hiding something, it makes me wonder what type of woman she is. Is she hiding who she really is? Trying to be someone she’s not? Or is it something else?
I worry someone’s already destroyed her in a way that’s beyond repair. A man. Maybe Phoenix’s father. And if that’s the case, the challenge of helping her repair her broken heart is tempting.
Which is why I want her in my bed.
Beneath me.
So I can show her what it feels like to be treated the way a woman deserves. To be ravaged with respect. To experience pleasure.
Before that can happen, I’m going to have to get her worked up. Make her want me. Tease her to a point she comes to me ready and willing. Make it so the only way she can get release is to be with me.
In a sense, I’m going to have to break her.
So that’s what I plan to do.
I’ve memorized the lies I’ve told. I’ll stick to my story, and everything will be fine. I have to keep telling myself that because the idea that this could turn out any other way is unacceptable.

Lead Me Back by C.D. Reiss

Lead Me Back, an all-new contemporary romance from New York Times bestselling author C.D. Reiss is releasing July 7th, and we have the first look!

Reiss - Lead Me Back - 26852-CV-FT

Standing right there in bare feet, white tattoo-exposing tank, white basketball shorts with an orange stripe down the side, with his blond hair so precisely bed-headed it had to be on purpose, and a gold chain that was the icing on the cake of a look every fashion and celebrity magazine called “douchecore” was Justin Beckett.
From the band Sunset Boys. That Justin.
From the cover of GQ. Twice before age twenty-two.
I considered myself too much of an adult to listen to his music, but I wasn’t dead. The Sunset Boys breakup that spring had drowned Twitter in sobs and DMZ in clicks. Justin Beckett, with his ghostly pale-blue eyes, had been the front man who’d thrown it all away for a crazy night at the Roosevelt Hotel.

About CD Reiss
_21A6258_pp-fb
CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets.
Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.
She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.
If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Wild Night by Mari Carr

Wild Night, an all-new frenemies standalone romance in the Wilder Irish series from New York Times bestselling author Mari Carr is coming June 30th, and we have the first sneak peek!

Wild Night Ebook copy (1)

“Hey,” she started, but she stopped when he took her hand and dragged her into the bathroom.
“What…” That was all Kelli bothered to say when Colm shut the door and locked it.
And that was the end of her resistance.
She met him halfway, the two of them kissing like their lives depended on it. Colm grasped her waist, pushing her back toward the sink as Kelli wrapped her arms around his shoulders, her hands in his hair.
He hadn’t kissed her since Halloween, but damn if he hadn’t spent every single fucking night since Thursday dreaming about doing this again. He pressed her lips open, dipping his tongue inside her mouth for a taste.
Barbeque sauce and Ranch dip.
Spicy, the perfect combination. She was delicious, and her lips soft despite the definite urgency of the kiss. She wanted this as much as he did.
