Liam and Vanessa meet when they are younger and they both know the minute they meet it's like they are meant to be together. So on the night of Vanessa's prom she comes home annoyed that her boyfriend is cheating on her, so Liam takes her out on a night she won't forget. And from that night on they are inseparable. Which leads to a marriage in Vegas when she's 21, then leads to a misunderstanding and then leads to a divorce. Cut to present time, Liam is in the MLB and Vanessa is a nurse and newly engaged, but they can't seem to move on from each other. There was never closure and never an explanation on what happened. Liam never got to explain what really happened to cause Vanessa to leave and Vanessa never let her heart heal after they split. Liam is bound to get his woman back and will do anything to make it happen!!!
While this is a series, I can say that I haven't read the other books in the series and I wasn't lost at all. I will go back and read the others though after reading this one! I loved all the interconnected characters in this book though... I loved the whole "family" vibe of everyone! I will say Liam is hard not to love... he's a softy with a huge heart... did he make a mistake yes, but he's such a sweetie you can't help but love him. Vanessa, while sometimes frustrating, you grow to love her and sometimes understand why she felt the way she did, but there were times I wanted to say "WAKE UP!!!" Such a fun story... I really loved it!
